DescriptionNow THIS is an example of a double page splash! Easily one of the best Man-Bat images ever published. Ethan said this took him 4 days to complete…it shows. The detail he put into it is nuts. Look at the number of lines that went into the right hand/wing! It’s actually not Kirk Langstrom but I’ll let you read it to find out who it is. Been waiting for an opportunity to pick up a really nice published piece by Ethan and suffice to say I'm glad I was patient. At Phoenix Comicon last year he mentioned he was going to be working on a Man-Bat arc in Batman: The Dark Knight and I immediately thought he would kill it on those characters. I asked if I could pre-pay for a page and he was down with that but would let me know later when he’d actually get started on it. He didn’t forget and in November sent me an e-mail so we worked out a deal where I pre-paid to pick any interior piece from the first issue and here it is. I picked it up at the recent Sci Fi Expo in Dallas. Man-Bat really looks grisly and imposing. Ethan said this is the best thing he’s drawn in a bit and I’d agree. Enjoy and thanks for looking! Ethan was honest. For some time the quality of his art was a bit diminished and the latest productions were not very exciting. In this case, the product is very accurate, and the framing is great. Congratulations!

To be fair, it looks simply like a large bat, not Man-Bat, but who cares?! This is an astonishing example of an artist really wanting to pull out all the stops on a particular image and make it the best thing he's ever done to that point. Kudos!
