DescriptionFACE IT TIGER! I JUST HIT THE JACKPOT!!!ECCC 2017 (Emerald City Comic Con, Seattle, WA) I went into the convention first thing on Thursday morning of the first day of the convention and immediately went to Brian Stelfreeze's table at the convention and I got onto his list as number 6. However I quickly learned that he wasn't taking commissions in any specific order! By the end of the day I saw that his list went up to 10 spots. Brian told me that he would put a couple more spots on to the list on Friday morning. I told him he gave me a portfolio review of my art in 2013 and his feedback on how to improve as an artist. Told him about the demonstration sketches he drew me and let me keep, demonstrating how to become a better artist. I told him that I became a better artist after his critique 4 years ago. He remembered and then he started drawing more demonstration sketches in my personal sketchbook. I went back to his table on Friday afternoon and saw that he only got 2 commissions done out of a list of 12 and my MJ commission did not get started. He told me that he will get as quickly as he can to my commission because he is looking forward to working on it. I wasn't sure if he was serious or not but I took his word for it. I was told of how hard it is to get a commission from Brian, as he picks and chooses what he wants to draw instead of going in any specific order in your place on the list. I went back to his table on Saturday evening before the exhibition hall was closing for the day to say hello. His assistant told me that my MJ commission got finished today and I saw that my MJ commission was the third commission he got finished out of a list of 12 that he took for the 4-day show. I feel so blessed and so lucky to own this grail MJ commission I got from Brian. The last time I tried for an MJ commission from Brian was in 2013 which was the last show he was in Seattle and he couldn't get to my commission. The wait paid off and I am very happy with the result. Not only do I own demonstration sketches but I also own an original commission by him. Face it tiger, I just hit the jackpot! Social/Sharing |

Beautiful piece! Brian's sense of color is fantastic and really shines here! You hit the jackpot indeed!

Great story, Ben! Sometimes persistence pays, and here the result is stellar! You definitely hit the jackpot - sincere congrats!
