I picked up this great 9" x 12" Dr. Strange illustration from Anthony Snyder on Dueling Dealers episode #59 (March 2, 2022).

When I first started collecting comic art in the late 90's, Rudy Nebres would come to a lot of the Big Apple Conventions in New York. He drew a variety of detailed, but unusual looking pinups of heroes and I picked up a great Dr. Strange drawing from him in 1998 (image attached). I don't remember the exact details, but I ended up trading it to a friend a few years later.

I always kind of missed that piece, so I was very happy to pickup a somewhat more detailed Dr. Strange by Nebres now. It appears to be dated 2019 on the back, and it's great to see that Rudy is still doing such fine work.

The rendering is absolutely stunning. It also appears that Rudy did this one on textured paper, is that right, Ted? So good!

Yeah -- it's sort of a textured cardstock. It looks like he used various kinds of pencils plus ink. I'm hoping I'll get to see Rudy again at a convention at some point.

Glad you were able to get a Nebres Strange back in the collection! Really is nice, with some great line work, amping up the textural elements. Congrats!

Fabulous Doctor Strange piece! Rudy Nebres is one of those artists who is so talented that he amazes me time after time. Great pick-up!

So, so, beautiful. Saw this on DD when I watched the episode a few days later, and was heartbroken when I saw it was claimed. But I'm glad you were able to replace your earlier Dr Strange piece by Rudy. I definitely think it's an upgrade (although both are certainly great pieces). Congratulations!

Thanks Eric! Rudy is still drawing so hopefully there will be other opportunities. (Anthony might also be able to hook you up since he seems to be selling a lot of his art recently.)
