Description

L'uomo di Altacraz (The Man from Altacraz). Page 9 from the second part of the story in Italian Topolino #381, 1963. Geronimo, the main character of the story, mad with rage and frustration as he believes music connoisseur Mr. Magus has rejected his music played on the "imbutophone", a yet unparallelled musical instrument, rushes into Mr. Magus office and thrashes the imbutophone on his head (or at least that is what he believes). Seems weird?? It is - yet it's all perfectly logical and a key event in this, one of the most intelligent and outstanding Mickey Mouse stories ever composed. When I was a kid I just loved this story and I still feel it has an exceptionally clever plot and fabulously intriguing characters. Unfortunately the page has a few creases but that's nothing a skilled professional can't restore. Thanks a million to Angelo Palmas and Ulrich Merkl for helping me locating it.
