The Kickstarter for "Joy to the World: The Fantasy Christmas Card Art of George Barr" has now gone live! that Bob Garcia of American Fantasy Press and I have been working on this amazing project for quite awhile and we're very pleased that we're now able to share it. One of the pieces reproduced in the book is shown here. You can read many more details if you head on over to the Kickstarter campaign (link) below, but this hardcover art book is devoted to Barr's stunning fantasy Christmas card. Arnie Fenner and I each provided introductions to the book.

It features over forty delightful vignettes of the Christmas season, full of dragons, angels, elves, living toys and magic - and cats! - by one of fantasy�s favorite artists. Most of these were done as private commissions for fantasy collectors Dick and Bette Wald for their annual Christmas card starting in the mid-1970's -- unless you happened to be on their Christmas card mailing list back then, most of this art will be new to you. And in addition to Barr's incredible black and white art are nine festive color pieces done in Barr's signature style.
