I am thrilled to read this Doug, you have made my day.  The back of the art made me think it was Frank Hamilton.  Frank and  in the mid 80s and I was going to pull the letters to compare the handwriting. I have always wanted a Frank Hamilton Shadow. 

That friendly neighborhood UPS man is still on my naughty list. The guy is too lazy to travel thousand of miles to leave me something this nice. Some people. Lol. No commitment to international aid.

i had the same amount bid as you and then switched over to the auction house live bidding for the actual auction and it looked like i was winning with no other bids but afterwards i saw i lost! it's because i put in my bid last minute and yours being first takes precedence. i would have bid higher if i had known but it didn't tell me i was losing! congrats! i had a feeling you got it. i'm still really upset though...

That's great.  Looks like the borders were cut off to save it.  For something this old, I'm sure that restoring the non art borders wouldn't have been worth it.

This beggars the question, where did they put the title? Is this only part of the painting?

Fed Ex suck. All they ever did for me was ruin two pieces of artwork by heavily damaging them and most recently sending me threatening letters about debt collectors after losing the payment I sent to them by registered mail. They have a truly awful reputation this side of the pond. I tell anybody I know not to use them. Other collectors I know have suffered similar horror stories with this imcompetent bunch. Nice artwork by the way!

You meet John in a parking lot too?   I think he originally had this peice but probably I got it from him at one of our houses! There is however parking lot art that was obtained at various times!

Is this from the period where he was experimneting with ball point pen? I am alwayys  amazed  at his art and the processes he used!
