Description

For Whelan Wednesday, I thought I'd post this interior illustration by Michael Whelan. It's from "The Tides of Kregen" by Alan Burt Akers (actually Kenneth Bulmer), which is book #12 in the Dray Prescot series. It was published by DAW Books in 1976. The series is inspired by the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs (particularly his John Carter series).

Sweet! Michael Whelan is always so terrific. And I read those books back in the day, it was a fun series, healthier for young minds than the "Gor" books.
