Darth Vader by Jae Lee on the cover of Star Wars (2014) #1, Blank Cover.

I met Jae Lee at the Long Beach Comic Expo and after getting a few books signed, noticed he was doing commissions. It's great just watching him work and after a little debating, decided to request a commission. I had a few blanks with me and let him choose the subject. It came down between Darth Vader on the Star Wars book or Batman on the DKIII blank. He ended up going with Vader, which made me glad simply because I thought his style would work so well with Vader's black shininess.

Unfortunately, time caught up to us and he wouldn't be able to get it do e before the end of the day and I wasn't going to be at the convention the next day. Fortunately, since I was getting the book slabbed anyways, I asked the witness to handle the pick up. I can't wait to get this in my hands, but thanks toCBCS' turnaround times, that probably won't be until late May.

I love the concept on this one and Jae's art style fits Vader nicely. Congrats on this one!

Thanks! I hadn't planned or budgeted for it so it took a little back and forth with myself but seeing it finished erased all doubts!
