Description

"The character of Red Wolf was created by Roy Thomas in an outstanding issue of The Avengers drawn by John Buscema and Tom Palmer. The Red Wolf of this tale was Will Talltrees, a modern man drawn to his traditional roots by circumstances and the criminality of Cornelius Van Lundt, a villain who would prove to become an Avengers mainstay.
Partnered with is feral comrade Lobo, Red Wolf stalked the brick and mortar canyons of the Big Apple in search of justice."

A number of drawings by Buscema in pencil and non-repro blue pencil are on the Back of the page (studies/sketches for illustrations in this issue) and a signature by writer Roy Thomas. The previous owner acquired this page directly from Roy Thomas at an appearance he made at a comics store in LA back in the 1970's. Thomas signed the page at the time.

Beautiful page which show what masters such as Buscema and Palmer can do with a 6 panel grid. Each panel is a beauty to behold and the story flows ever so smoothly from panel to panel ! A wonderful addition to your great collection !

Great page! Origin elements, solid storytelling, and that crouching image in the last panel is just awesome. A definitive Red Wolf page from the character's signature issue. Congrats!
