Description

Ryan Sook was drawing con sketches on Friday at WonderCon 2011 when I approached and asked to see his prelims. From the marker cover comp, I figured this must be Liz Sherman from Mike Mignola's Hellboy. At WonderCon 1998 in Oakland, I saw Mike and nearly bought the Almost Colossus page where Hellboy arrives at the Wauer Institute and the doctor declares Liz is already dead, but Hellboy brings Roger the homunculus to revive her. I bought another page, but should have bought both, of course. I was very happy to buy this prelim for BPRD Hell on Earth Monsters #1 cover from Ryan who was one of the first artists picked by Mike to work on Hellboy. I first met Ryan at Treasure Island Comics in my hometown Fremont, CA in 2003.

I don't think I've ever seen Liz look better. Congrats on an amazing drawing.
