DescriptionMy introduction to the Moore/Bissette/Totleben run on Saga of the Swamp Thing was with issue #25's "The Sleep of Reason...". I hadn't been reading Swamp Thing for years and bought that one on a lark. There was nothing else for me on the stands. The cover layout was interesting and I figured, what the hey... Took it home and read it.And then again and yet again. I was hooked. I'd seen Bissette's work before and enjoyed it. But Totleben was new to me. And Alan Moore? Waitaminnit, was that the cat who was writing for Warrior? I'm not sure I've ever been so excited about a creative team before or since. By the time I got to #27's "...By Demon's Driven", I'd already managed to track down all of the earlier issues and was promoting the book to every and anyone who would listen. This is a gem of a page for me, from when my love for the series bordered on the evangelical. Many, many thanks to Mark Levy. I can't bottle those memories but this comes pretty darn close... Awesome addition. A real fine example from the series with great panels. My first Swamp Thing was Rites of Spring and it was like seeing poetry in the language of comic art.

Bravo, what a page! The Demon was so well-used by Moore and co.

A magical team that can only be truly appreciated when holding the original art. Congrats.

I also started the series with this story after a hip college professor (who, at one point in his life, he claimed, played in a band with a pre-famous Bruce Springsteen) told me I had to check it out. I was blown away by it and sent me out to the back-issue bins to see what else I could find by these guys. Yours is a fine page with much foreshadowing about all the terribly good things to come.

Regarding the ' Alan Moore? Waitaminnit, was that the cat who was writing for Warrior? ' comment in your description, Alan is much too ugly to be called a cat, even though he drew a comic strip one.

The Demon two-parter was the first ST story I ever read & is still my favorite. What a great "quiet" page!
