Description

The mid to late 90s Grant Morrison era of JLA is one of my favorite runs in comics history. My brother and I both got into JLA, and the world of DC (beyond Batman), because of Grant's work on this series with artist Howard Porter. I'd met artist Darryl Banks at a few regional cons over the past couple years and gained an appreciation for his style. I liked the way he drew comics like I remember them looking as I was growing up! When I contacted Darryl I knew I wanted a massive JLA double page spread and he seemed excited by my ideas and the scope of the project. After emailing back and forth with Darryl I knew I had found the right artist to make my ultimate JLA dream project a reality. I shared my affinity for John Byrne's awesome montage commissions with Darryl and he started his work from there. At times during the process I felt like I might be overburdening Darryl with my multiple intricate requests, but he worked with me and came up with this stunning piece of artwork. It features all the main 7 JLA members from Morrison's run as well as the reserve members and a series of montages that covers every storyline from Morrison's run. Rod Reis knocked it out of the park on the color version, as well. I am super pleased to have this piece!
