Description

If you've seen my collection you probably know I love character designs, redesigns, and concept art. I'm also a big fan of Steve McNiven's art and enjoyed his work on Guardians of the Galaxy so this one hit multiple boxes.

McNiven redesigned the Guardians of the Galaxy cast for the Marvel NOW! series, which debuted at SDCC 2012. This is his redesign for Gamora, the deadliest woman in the galaxy!

I remember Marvel teasing this image in 2012 and it was really cool to see McNiven's design used beyond the books for several action figures lines including Marvel Legends, Marvel Select, Eaglemoss, and Sideshow. Additionally this version of Gamora appeared in some video games and in 2021 this version of Gamora appeared in the global video game hit, Fortnite.

When I read the first sentence of your description I couldn't help but blurt out "Uhh..understatement!" :) Lovely lady, lovely lines, lovely design. I really do like it. My only cover with Gamora on it has her in this look and the look absolutely has to do a lot with it. Congrats, man!

Such beautiful, clean lines. McNiven uses the cross hatching technique to great effect!
