Description

Original art page for Daredevil #60, published by Marvel Comics in January 1970, with a Marvel date stamp on the back of September 1969, so this is a perfect bridge example between the Silver Age and very beginning of the Bronze Age. This is the last page (Pg. 22) from the classic story "Show-Down At Sea!", featuring the legendary creative team of Roy Thomas, Gene Colan, and Syd Shores. This is an outstanding DD example, with the end of the story, and Daredevil (as well as Foggy, the best-friend of his secret identity persona of Matt Murdock) in every single panel, including a classic iconic image of Daredevil, and ending on a note of classic DD mythos melodrama, with Daredevil pining for Karen Page! And what artist could draw it all better other than arguably the greatest Daredevil artist ever, Gene Colan! Gene "The Dean" Colan is a true legend with one of the most distinctive styles in comics, and is well-known for his classic work in the 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's, notably on Daredevil, Tomb of Dracula, Captain America, Avengers, Howard The Duck, Wonder Woman, Iron Man, Hulk, Sub-Mariner, Batman in Detective Comics, and many other titles. It's becoming harder and harder to find great vintage 1960's/1970's DD pieces, so a piece like this is a highly desirable display piece and a perfect vintage example from a classic Marvel period. This is an amazing piece of vintage Daredevil artwork from one of the greatest artists of all-time, that would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed, and would be an outstanding addition to any collection.
