DescriptionEnjoying a slice of pizza is a slice of life of Spider-Man who once in a while needs to take a break from patrolling the friendly neighborhoods of New York. Always fun when Spidey needs to pull half his mask up to eat. First time we saw it was when he took Sue Storm out on a date to mess with The Torch. Here carrying on the tradition is Miles Morales with pizza as drawn by Elmer Cantada. Obtained from the First Comic Art Live 2022 youtube Saturday night drop with Next Comic Art and picked up in person from Jiggy at SDCC 2022. I gave Jiggy my invite to the last ever Graphitti Designs party at SDCC. I was hoping for photos or some fancy stories on his IG. The guy didn't even go…I was offered to write descriptions for money at SDCC 2022 and turned it down. So no, I haven’t seen any comment bucks, or made profit by being active on comicartfans. My rewards have been surprise gifts that I haven’t solicited. A years premium on CAF (I’ve renewed for this year by myself), a set of 25 Dueling Dealer Cards (I wind up buying the Kickstarter set as well myself), a Best of CAF Thor Hammer, then sketchcards and poker chips from Jeff Wedding and a nice care package of legos and Mankini club stickers from ML. I am thankful for all of it. So, yes you too can live the jet setting lifestyle by commenting on CAF. Social/Sharing |

You gave him a free pass and he didn't bother to go?!? I guess he wasn't gettin' jiggy wit it. This piece is definitely a slice of life and I quite like the minimalist approach to it. One thing I couldn't help noticing immediately though, is that the signature looks EXACTLY like Eranga's, even down to adding the year in that format withthe apostrophe. Now I wonder of Eranga is pulling double duty so he can take commissions through Next Comic Art as well as 4C. Could it be? Might Eranga be the shyster no one previously expected him to be?

I know what I'm having for dinner tonight! This is a great Miles illustration. And I was wondering when it was that we first saw Peter Parker eating a slice with his mask pulled up. Ah, memories ....

Nice splash page.
I'm also glad you are getting the recognitiuon as the comic maestro we all know you are. To be honest, I think you are the best face of CAF and should be the CAF Ambassador. Alas, I have little power here (or at hom, or at work, ...) to make that come to fruition.
But I believe that all of the CAF family is honored by your contributions, energy, and intellect on all things in the comic medium.

With great commenting apparently comes great responsibility, key emphasis here on great commenting! Please message me about jetsetting as it is something I would like to participate in.
This Spidey eating pizza on a vertical surface brings a smile to my face, as so many of your comments have. You are a big part of this community as well as a very positive part of it. That avatar though, I can barely bring myself to log in. Oh the thought of it at a bottom of a piece of art I am looking at...cough...spew. Could possibly be worse than a troll :)

who holds a pizza like that? He'll have greasy fingers fighting crime. And then grease stains from the box on his pants.

Gotta take a lunch break sometimes. With Spidey's busy schedule, a pizza on the side of a building is perfect! Great view also. Very cool, Marcus

When this art hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s great composition,
when the page seems to shine like you had to much wine, that’s Chiaroscuro,
Miles will ring ting a ling a ling, ting a ling a ling, and you’ll sing "I'm Ready",
Kate's hearts will play tippy tippy tay, tippy tippy tay like a web of Mozzerela,
when the inks make you drool just like Cantada or Mahfood that’s amore,
when you glance down the page with a shadow behind, you’re in love.
when you cling to a wall in a dream but you know you’re not dreaming Mr. Wai,
scuzze me but you see back in ole New York City that’s amore

Part of the charm of Spider-Man has always been that he had problems just like the rest of us. (i.e. How the heck DO you eat pizza when you're wearing a face-hugging mask?). Glad to see Miles Morales is keeping up the spidey-tradition.

Elmer distills objects down their very basic building blocks and then deftly renders them with ink. In much the same way, The Wai is to write truth and offer a priceless treasure - hours and hours of hearty humor. Many thanks always!

Good art AND personality to match. Love the casual humor of Miles' chill out while pigging out.
