DescriptionHappy Batman Day 2023!This is from Chris Samnee’s Batober 2022 day 30 done from the prompt : Honor At some point during the month, he was bound to do a group shot and he chose that specific word as way to honor the entirety of the whole Bat Family. You can pick this thing apart visually to see the details and the symbolism Samnee put into this one. Quite an honor to have this piece from my friend Andy who is himself a big Samnee fan. Love that all the architecture shifts the focus to the center as well as all the contrast, which makes this pop so bright. Awesome piece for today.

Nice! But to be honest, I was sort of anticipating a different Bat piece. Maybe one from a certain Canadian? Oh well, at least I got to see that one in person. Anyway, cool cast illo. Love Bat-Mite of course. Yeah, that Andy is one helluva guy.

great Bat family piece!! great poses, enjoy seeing who is looking at who (or what in Batman's case i assume it's looking at Gotham in the distance or at force ghost versions of his parents!, wrong franchise sorry ;-p)

Wonderful piece! Samnee can do little wrong and everything right when it comes to the Bat family. This piece is a perfect example of that. Great layout and wonderful choices throughout.

Batman gets the gold medal standing high while surrounded by his Bat family including Bat Mite. Samnee gives amazing perspective to the family heirarchy!

This piece rocks! I love Chris Samnee's strong, broken lines, and the chiaroscuro shadows and lights, the composition, the positions and poses of the characters, so cool!

With Bruce being so intensely focused on what he does, namely the protection of Gotham, it makes you wonder if he even notices his family admiring here :) I'm sure he cares...but he ain't going to show it. It's time to get to work!
Great use of negative space as per usual with Samnee, and you gotta love Bat-Mite clearly doing the most admiring :) Congrats!

What a FANTASTIC example of composition and balance; this one completely blows you away! Superb staging of the characters and lighting, allowing the "swell" of the character flow to build from lower left to upper right. The way Chris anchors that bat / building shadow in the center of the piece is brilliant and hilariously cool, and even with all of the Family backup Batman has supporting him here, the viewer's eye has to really work to pull itself away from Batman himself, so heroic is his stance, strong is his light, and dominant his position on the page. (Just have to shout out the three lines Chris uses to Batman's right - our left - to denote the edge of the shaft of light Batman is standing in. A subtle but fantastic design-inspired choice that visually cues a 'Dark Knight'-style musical phrase.) Quite possibly a "perfect" Batman piece, Marcus! An epic and gorgeous score! Congrats!
