Description

I consider Toppi in the top 10 most important comic artists EVER! If I were to rank it by influence on others, he would be in the top 10. There would be Bill Sienkiewicz, Dave McKean and their followers if it were not for Toppi, Breccia and Baron Storey. Toppi took an a very classical approach in line work and texture and warped it into something unique and defining. Although I have a number of Toppi pieces, it always feels like there is room for a few more in my collection.

On this piece, I love the design elements both on an individual basis and how Toppi brings them together. The aesthetics and details are both signature Toppi. I like the theme too...Snow White... what is there not to like?

List of 10 most important artists in no particular order: Herge, Raymond, Caniff, Herriman, Kirby, Toppi, Eisner, Kurtzman, Breccia, Sienkiewicz.

fantastic piece! totally agree on placing Toppi in the top 10 list... he's been (and still is) a major influence for generations of comic book artists and illustrators

Agree with your description. I'd add Sean Murphy to that list. Toppi is one of those artists that I really love but I can't find the right example for my collection. You've managed to put together some amazing pieces. Congratulations

Also, as much as I love his style and his art I still haven't read a full story. Your collection has inspired me to find some sequential stores of his to read
