Description

Before there was Thanos, there was Darseid!
Created by Jack Kirby in 1970, Darkseid ultimately became one of the greatest villains in the DC Universe. In the current century, he is an antagonist of the JLA and Superman, but in the future, he tangles with the Legion of Super-Heroes as the villain of the Great Darkness Saga, one of the greatest DC story arcs.
In this issue of Firestorm published in 1987, while waiting for a larger plot against the JLA to play out, he toys with Firestorm for his amusement.

A very nice Kirby-esque Darkseid splash by J.J. Birch! I also want to say that when I read/collected Firestorm, I always thought Firehawk had one of the nicest costume designs at DC in those days.
