Description

Stamped: Copyright 1985.

Looks like it could have been a submission for the Super Powers Toy promo or the Who's Who in the DC Universe that was ultimately not used. There is a note a light blue pencils at the top that says 'won't work'.
I found a color version on line but don't know if this was just a fan coloring.
Features a Parademon, Desaad, Darkseid, Kalibak, Mantis and Steppenwolf.

Darkseid was the villain behind the Legion greatest tale, the Great Darkness Saga and as such finds a place in my Legion collection.
Darkseid and the rest of the new Gods was of course created by Jack Kirby in 1970.

He draws and sketch to make them come to life

Jump in the power and the brush starts inkin'
Out on the street, the Mantis starts jumpin'
Desaad, like Keith on the job from line to line

Workin' 9 to 5, draws a piece to make a livin'
Steppenwolf comes by, he's all talkin' and no fightin'
You will lose your mind
Won't Work and won't give you credit
It's enough to irk Jack Kirby if you let it

Line by line, forever parademons
He would ink Darkseid
Well deserved in your collection
Want to move ahead
But the boss won't seem to let me
I swear sometimes Kalibak's out to get me

Yes, it is clearly modern day computer coloring by a fan. But who cares about that? A Giffen New Gods piece including Darkseid that was never published? I wonder why. Very cool that he's shown in full figure, but I love the head at top even more! A great piece overall.
