I'm usually a much bigger fan of Wrightson's black and white pen and brush work than I am of his painted work. This would be one of the exceptions. A true gem.

I don't know what this says about me as a teenager, but I probably looked at this painting more than any other featured in The Studio. Heh.

One of Wrightson's greatest single images, and that is saying a lot since he has dozens of great ones.

Awesome painting by the master! Not to mention that it's the cover of one of the best (if not the best) comic-related artbooks I've ever seen: the 2nd revised edition of "A look back"...

This image is fresh in my mind since I first saw it in the book "The Studio". It must be shocking to own the original painting, congrats.
