I'm sure George's desire to make a Flash Gordon film must have influenced his choice in Al Williamson to handle the art duties for Marvel's The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi adaptations. The OA world is better for it. Man, Jabba's personal hive of scum and villany detailed with that lush brushwork... stellar.

Amazing how much detail Al Williamson put into his art! He truly was the master of drawing epic space operas!
