When I saw Omar's "Bufo" on the Illustraion Exchange I knew he was the perfect artist to do a portrait of Gizmo, my Australian Bearded Dragon. I kept the art direction minimal, supplying Omar with a few pictures of Giz, and asking for her to be lounging at a window framed with wisteria; I also wanted him to work into the picture a few crickets, mealworms & blueberries (her most favorite of foods). I think he caught Gizmo's spirit wonderfully.
