DescriptionSteranko only did a handful of covers for Marvel, and this one's spectacular. Special thanks to my pal Bill Howard for parting with this, one of my favorites from his awesome collection.Social/Sharing |

"A handful of covers for Marvel", eh? Well, I'd say that one is QUITE a handful, Dom! Absolutely stunning. Glad it's found a nice new home in a good "neighborhood!"

During the late 1960s, when these works were appearing, the next Steranko masterwork was always eagerly awaited. Remember this cover very well . . . looks as fresh and exciting as on the day it first appeared on the UK newstands (yeah, we got all the Yankee comics over here). Your're very privileged to own such a beaut, congrads!

You have to love how Steranko would almost always obscure part of the book's title with his art. I wonder if that drove Stan crazy.

Let's not forget about the inker, Frank Giacoia, who makes Steranko's piece stand out so well!

There are those pieces on CAF that inspire burning jealousy, and this is one of those pieces. Painful to look at...

An impossible dream... Sigh! Well, at least it's (very!) nice to see it shared: thanks for that!

Love the art that goes in front of the title, the Tarzan-touch with the vine, and the posture of Nick Fury, which is kind of impossible to mimic, but add some dynamic to the action

a Jim grail.
someone analyzed that Jim only did like 29 comics,
where he introduced something like 150 comic book graphic narratives

Small in number but large in impact. As a young reader I eagerly awaited the next Steranko Marvel comic. As, shall we say, an advanced in years adult I still admire his art. Congrats.

Dynamic is WAY too much of an understatement. This is pure Steranko gold!

Steranko is having a lot of fun with scale, and this page is off the scale!
