Thank you so much Wallace. You've already made my year. I've wanted this cover forever.

I never dreamed of owning this piece. This is my holy grail. To me it embodies everything that is George Wilson. The colors are magnificent. The aliens so George Wilson. You can tell he took his time with this one.

I hope to be buried with it! To me it is the best of the Space Family Robinson covers. I rank it as number one of the George Wilson covers. I included it in my ten best covers in an earlier post, at number one!

Wallace, I am sure the last 10 years you have had this, it filled you with much joy. I promise I'll take good care of it.

Final Note:

Got the piece today from Heritage. It is impossible to desribe the true magnitude of the talent of Mr. Wilson. This piece is perfect in every detail. I simply cannot believe the detail he put into this painting. It is definitely what I would consider his finest work. To see it in person takes your breathe away.

I have longed for this painting for the longest time, never dreaming it would be released from Wallace's collection. It sits before me right now and will soon be joined back with its brother's and sisters where it belongs. I expect they will have quite the reunion tonight!

I can now die easy.

Congratulations, Ashley, it's a great SFR/LIS cover! Not so sure about the 'rarest of the rare' tag . . . as they're all one-of-a-kind paintings . . . though maybe rarest-of the-rare to you! As a side-note, your grail originated from the same source as my LIS # 25 cover grail that I own. Cool that these things end-up in appreciative homes!

Hello Terry:

I understand your thoughts on the rare part. I should have clarified as to the rarity of the 1960's Wilson's. But I do covet your #25, I must admit. Thank you so much for posting it. I have many times enjoyed it's beauty. I would so enjoy learning the history of these pieces.

It seemed like Mr. Wilson was really hitting his stride with these particular pieces. They show an attention to detail that seems to be a little lost in some of his later paintings. I can only imagine painting so many pieces, could burn you out. I never realized how much of a hedonist I was until I got older. Haha. A fine perfume. Beautiful automobile and a wonderful piece of art. They all go hand in hand.

I know I will have disagreement on this next point, but I raise a glass to him; the greatest comic book cover artist to ever live. Here's to you Mr. Wilson.
