Description

This is something special. Todd Klein, who lettered all of Sandman, naturally came back on board to do Sandman Overture. Only this time, unlike on the original series, he lettered the whole book digitally. ...almost the whole book. For Delirium's appearance in the book and her specific lettering and balloon style, Todd opted to hand letter those balloons. He posted a very detailed blog post about it on his site: http://kleinletters.com/Blog/delirium-speaks/
Once I saw the post I knew I wanted to get my hands on those two vellums. Todd is one of my favorite letterers in comics. With his work on Batman: Year One and the many collaborations with Neil Gaiman and Alan Moore as the true standouts.
Todd's approach on Sandman was so unique, giving each of the Endless characters a specific voice. He truly masters the art of storytelling through lettering.

So great. Klein's lettering really did make the series something special. Especially when the Endless and other deities and languages were involved. He should have gotten a special award for Season of Mists alone. :)
