Description

All New X-Men issue # 13 pages 2 and 3 (circa 2013).

I don't read too many modern era comics but the creative team of Brian Michael Bend is (writer), Stuart Immonen (penciller), and Wade Von Grawbadger (inker) were making too much of a splash for me not to notice.

I have always been a fan of Stuart's art and was looking forward to picking up a cover or splash from the series. Apparently, Stuart has a lot of fans ..... the best pages were snatched up almost as fast as they were posted online by his agent.

I remember seeing the previews for this page and going completely nuts over the page. Colorist Rain Beredo just killed it but the pure black and white artwork looked equally spectacular. What make's Stuart's art special are the realistic facial expressions he gives each character. Just look at the reaction of Wolverine as Jean Grey goes all out Phoenix. It's enough to make Kevin Maguire smile.

Well, I was too slow to make a play on this DPS but I always admired it from afar in another CAF member's gallery.

Fast forward to 2015 when I just happen to spot a link to an ebay auction from CAF on what seemed to be the coveted DPS. Thanks to Akoni and Jacob for both letting this go. I know it couldn't have been easy.

Finally, I've been able to fill one of the many "holes" in my collection, a Jean Grey Phoenix page. I'm always looking to covers or splashes from this series and creative team. Let me know what you have available.
