Description

This huge and evocative painting by August Hall brilliantly suggests the frenetic energy of participants at the burning of Zozobra (an annual festival in Santa Fe, NM ) A surreal depiction, the confused, intertwining limbs of the dancers challenges the viewer's own sense of what they're seeing. A powerful piece, equal parts intriguing and disturbing, I've admired this work for years and am very happy for it to have found its' way to me. The piece reveals a different pallet under differing lighting conditions. See additional pic for a broader sense of it's color scheme.
