Talking to and about himself in the third person? The art is magnificent and fills in all the nooks and crannies around the word balloons. Switching black and white for rain is quite an accomplishment that must have taken a lot of patience to apply correctly with balance.

Yes, he is indeed refering to himself in third person. I assume it reflects his commitment to duty and thoughts on being a small part of something larger than himself.
