Description

The 3. of September bruxelles were liberated. In the days that followed Herge was arrested 4 times and spend one night in prison. A traumatic experience as he years later told to Pol Vandromme : "Nobody knows you anymore, not even the publishers, Nobody". I was arrested 4 times by different services but I was only one night in prison ; the day after they let me go. I haven`t figured in the proces against collaborators in Soir. I was only there like an audience. One of the lawyers in defense asked ; "Why haven`t Herge been arrested ?. And a auditor answered : "But that would have seemed strange". No doubt Herge remembered those painful memories at the time he drew the episode with Tintin in the Inca prison. Never the less, it is a wonderful balanced original panel showing Tintin and Milou in full figure. But even in this impossible situation they are to find the newspaper article - send from above, saving them all from the fire.

Le 3 Septembre 1944, Bruxelles était libérée ! Dans les jours qui suivent, Herge fut arrête par quatre fois et passa une nuit en prison. Moment traumatisant a propos duquel il expliquera quelques années plus tard a pol Vandromme : "Plus personne ne vous connait ni meme les éditeurs, plus personne !" "Jài été arrête quatre fois, chaque fois par des services différents, mail je nài passe quùne nuit en prison ; le lendemain on mà relâche. Je nài cependant pas figure au procès des collaborateurs du soir, j`y étais en spectateur… Un des avocats de la defense a dàilleurs demande : "Pourquoi nà-t-on pas aussi arrête Herge ?", ce a quoi làuditeur militaire a répondu : "Mais je me serais couvert de redicule". Nul doute que Herge se souviendra de ces instants douloureux au moment de mettre en scène cet épisode de la prison du Grabd Inca…Dans tous les cas, il sàgit ici dùne belle case bien équilibrée, avec Tintin en culottes de golf et Milou en prise avec le journal ou son maitre trouvera lànnonce de lèclipse providentielle qui les sauvera tous du bucher final !
