DescriptionIn 2014, I took my father to New York Comic Con as a fun father/son trip. It was his first convention and my first time at one of the big two shows. During that show I met the artist Jeremy Haun, purchased several pages and learned that he was from Joplin, which is only about 90 minutes from where I live. Two weeks after the show, my father suddenly passed away. Because we were so wrapped up in the convention, there was not a single picture of my father and I together at the show. I emailed Jeremy and asked if I sent him individual pictures, would he be willing to take on a commission of putting me and my dad together at the show in a drawing and have it ready for the 2015 NYCC as I was planning to take my mother. Despite what I thought would happen, he accepted the commission. I didn't see the completed piece until a couple days before the show and it's a masterpiece in every way. I've been lucky enough to acquire some great pieces over the years, but there isn't a single page in my collection that comes close to the value that piece has for me personally.Social/Sharing |

I read the story about this piece in this week's CAF e-mail...you should really post that in the description of the piece. Terrific (yet sad) story, glad you were able to get something like this done.
