Description

As a budding animation artist in the early 90's, I remember the excitement of anything related to cartoons that I enjoyed. When the short lived magazine Wild Cartoon Kingdom came out, I bought all the issues. Bruce Timm's work was hugely influential to me then and still is now. Issue #2 was all about BTAS and was a great read. I dreamed about seeing the cover art in person.

Thanks to CAF, you can visit Jared Simmons gallery and see the final painted art for this cover. It's beautiful! And now I can say I own a part of that cover with this prelim. I tend to like Timm's inked art better than his color work as you can see based on my Timm gallery, so this suits me just fine.

I guess it qualifies as a "prelim" but it's a killer piece of art in its own right, and with the Batman pose and all of the shadow work really exhibits the Timm style well. Congrats, man!
