Description

Burns evidently did several illustrations for Levi jeans in the 80s. You can seem them in the sold items at Heritage Auctions, though the cataloger doesn't know it. You can tell because the figures are all wearing jeans! This is one in this series and it's so incredibly and typically BURNS art--Burns work is always so down to earth, yet strangely hallucinogenic, not unlike a David Lynch film. It's quite large, around 14 x 18, and it comes with gratitude from superstar collector Jeff Singh. I'm so happy to have this great example of Burns brilliant clean and creepy art.

Love Burns' big bold inks. David Lynch analogy is a good one! Always something a little unsettling and mysterious, but with dark humor interlaced. Fascinating work!

Grotesque or chaotic entropy are depicted in a neat and orderly fashion. Perhaps it is the only way he can process and control these scenes of helplessness and fear.
