DescriptionThis one was a tough one to decide on. For the most part I am not a fan of the villains. I am always far more interested in the heroes. There are a few villains however (Bizzaro, Solomon Grundy, Catwoman, The Blob, Sabretooth, etc..) that I always liked. As a huge fan of the 1966 Batman show - I of course became a fan of many of Batman's villains including The Riddler. The one collecting area I was not mentally ambiguous about was my love of Gary Frank's art. As I can't afford it all, I try to be 'picky', but this one just exploded all my senses. Super happy to have it in my collection. In thinking about the Bat Villains - anyone here ever a fan of King Tut (from the '66 show)? Thanks for checking out my gallery! Social/Sharing |

Gary Frank has a real gift for making everything he does his own. I've been a longtime fan and yet have never acquired anything —for pricing, availability, etc. But considering that he's one of the best cover artists who still does a lot of interior work I need to dedicate a budget and just dive in, because the guy is amazing, and this a great example of why. Cheers and congrats!

No villian love? Blasphemy! There's no hero without a villian ;).
Fantastic piece. Love the brooding Batman. Congrats

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Deep breaths. In and out. In and out. Now how about we just sit down and have a bubble tea and have a game of Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza.

Curse you, Batman. May you fall down a flight of stairs and break every tooth in your head except one and in that may you have a toothache for the rest of your life which won't be very long.

I'm afraid I'm in the villains camp as well (although more Marvel than DC). But yeah, one of the really cool things about the old Batman show was the amazing roster of great actors they were able to cast for its villains. Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith, Vincent Price, Milton Berle, Frank Gorshin, and yes, Victor Buono as King Tut. Anyway, nice Riddler cover.

The opposite of yes? is ?sey. I presume the prize for getting the question right is a free choice of a piece of art from your collection? Cash equivalent also accepted. You should try harder. Thats worse than one of the Riddlers lame ass riddles.

I keep comin' bat to that moment where I decide on art
So, I try and bid with emotions 'til I can't feel my heart
Now I know Gary Frank how you slipped through my hands
And I do all I can to get you out of my head
So, when I caught Duke with the Riddler tonight
And I'm choking on the works 'cause I miss Groo
Baby, don't tell Fleed I'm out of line
I got so much of my Gorshin to give Duke
It’s the Riddle of the night
Ink the middle of the white
I need Bruce
It’s the riddle of the night

Heroes, villains, animals, furniture - doesn't matter. Gary Frank's a home run every time.

It's great to have a Gary Frank Riddler because this: Riddler is one of those villains who really reflects the stye of the artist rendering him; the cu tof the suit, suit or costumes, but most imprtantly the expression - calculating, mad, frustrated, imperious - what Riddler will this artist give us. this is a great one: to me, he's deranged enough to think he's one step ahead. And he just might be.

Without color, I thought he was The Joker. But, Frank Gorshin thanks you from beyond the grave!

What a great cover. Striking image and composition. Riddler in the light and Batman about to emerge from the darkness, just great stuff by Gary. Congrats on adding this to your collection.

Nice Gary Frank piece. Frank Gorshin was awesome as The Riddler. And I wouldn't even say he was overacting. That was perfect casting. Victor Buono as King Tut was similarly great. I love how he would suddenly raise his voice (without yelling). Very dramatic. Actually, virtually all the villains were cast perfectly.

Looks like the Riddler's got something up his sleeve. Though he knows Bats has got the drop on him, he's still got that smile. Love how Batman is kind of merged with the background shadows, and yes, some great pure illustration by Frank with the Riddler here. I gotta get a piece by him soon. Congrats!
