Iconic. One of the best Cap images of the entire decade.

Hi Sam,
Honestly not an exciting story just a lucky purchase way back in 2005 from another CAF member. I was just getting into original art collectiing and Captain America is one of my favorite characters. I was sersching though the galleries and saw this piece. I sent a request to the owner if he'd ever sell it which he said he wasn't but would keep me in mind. To my great surprise several months later he decided to let it go. I jumped at the chance and the rest is history. This is one of my greatest art pieces and a true grail and part of Marvel or even comic book history. It's alot more than that to me as I remember when that issue of Thor 390 first came out and what a scene it was to see Cap be worhty enough to lift the hammer.

Proof that none of the Avengers ever really understood the meaning of what was written on the hammer!

What a grail it is! Nothing makes a Cap fan's heart leap more than seeing Steve Rogers' character shine through - and this proves he is indeed "worthy."

I only just realised that the sound effect is a hidden pun. If you rewrite it as it sounds you get CAP WHACK, which is quite funny considering what hes doing.
