DescriptionAliens Original Movie Poster Comp by Terry Lamb.This piece was the original first work by Terry Lamb under Mike Salisbury's art/design agency. A piece I refer to as comp#1. The original art design was created from cut photographic elements of studio provided stills. Terry and Mike copy and pasted the top half of the actors w/Ripley holding the top half of the pulse rifle, and several eggs and a few background elements to a board and had it photo copied (a chibi-chrome print as they called it). From that print, Terry painted 100% on top of it on this board covering all the original elements and adding much of his uniqueness to the design (this painting, shown pictured). From Mike, "this is the original (first) movie painting by Terry". From that painting, and while Terry was in the process of moving to Hawaii, Mike's agency made a second chibi-chrome copy of Terry's painting and had another agency artist, Jeff Wack, add some additional details (In discussion with Jeff, he confirmed has added or contributed about 5% change to Terry's original painting). Jeff changed some eggs around, re-worked the faces, and darkened the overall feel of the image. When Terry returned, he added the glowing cat eye "I" at the top of this new piece which was incorporated into the 'ALIENS" title treatment and the final poster was complete. This final piece is currently owned by another lucky CAF member. Social/Sharing |
