DescriptionI watched this auction knowing my brother was bidding on the piece. We had lots of discussions about it, what price it might end up selling for, Stephen Platt’s work, and the market that surrounds his work. My brother won it. He seemed pretty happy about it too. What I didn’t know is that he and my wife intended it to be my Christmas gift this year. I was startled when I opened it. Family is everything.Double Tap appears as the cover, in a short multi-page introduction story within Asylum 1, and as this pin-up in Asylum 2. Platt never does anything with the character after that. Social/Sharing |

Classic SPlatt! Time in, Time out, the guy's art excites the senses for 90's fans. The details are on brand for Platt! This is a great piece to celebrate both art and family.

Platt did end the intro story with "definitely not the end". Although he'd have to return to the character after 27 years.

Asylum was a book with an oddball assortment of stories that I thought had good potential that was sadly cut short. Big congrats on landing this pinup from that too-short series!
