Description

An early birthday gift from my wife. She knows that I enjoy Ed McGuinness� early style. His lines are thick just like the characters he was drawing at this point in his career. Ed�s cartoony/manga style with loads of expressions on this cover brings me right back to the late 1990�s.

I looked through this issue of DV8 and Ed McGuinness and Jason Martin aren�t credited for the cover. Clearly they produced the cover though! Ed and Jason produced a great cover featuring Bliss and EVO!

This cover is from 1999. Ed has finished his run on Deadpool and moved over to Wildstorm and is doing his six issue run on Mr. Majestic around this time. He�s still an unknown/up and coming artist at that point in his career.

Yup, cool seeing classic Ed from this time. More built and blocky and so fun. Martin's inks impress here, too. Congrats!

Pretty distinct style as I noticed his style was always chunky, bold, and in your face! There was always a fist coming at your and the musclebound physique to back it up!

Wow, Ed worked on the DV8 title too?!? The man has done everything! And what a wonderful wife you have, to 1) know which artist you like, 2) know which stylistic period of that artist you like the most and 3) to buy you this cover for your birthday!! Lucky lucky man, and wonderful wonderful cover! Thanks for sharing.
