DescriptionMy favourite artist doing one of my favourite characters so bit of a no brainer really. Especially since it's probably Brian's only published Death image. Brian says it was inspired by an old historical Chinese photo he once saw of a chap being tortured. He obviously had fun with the characters as they popped up again later in the "Kapas" story he wrote and drew for Vertigo.Stumbled upon this piece on ebay a few years ago (2001) but the asking price was very high and I was brand new to the hobby tho I later rued missing out as I pored over the printout. And then the poster DC released. I later saw it in a friend's collection but he liked it and had no intention of parting with it. Fortunately he eventually wavered and I pounced. Cheers muchly Dave. Brings back fond memories of my Sandman collecting phase. Bolland can do no wrong.

Just saw this now and it's a coup to get Bolland since he works only digitally now! And this is a nice piece!

This is awesome. Brian doesn't do any pencil and ink drawings anymore - he's "100% digital". Getting any of his stuff now is very very difficult (or expensive)
