I blame the sender of course. Imagine if he did this for a living! ??
Great page and I'm glad this story had a happy ending, Jeff.
A great and very personal reminder of John. Glad it's ended in such an appreciative home, Nick.
(Interestingly I have a page from DD 191 which also has a dedication, this one to Kevin Eastman)
An "amazing" vintage Wagner cover. Great find, Dan. Congrats.
Congratulations on achieving your dream piece, Finnius.
Although it ain't no Fabry Crisis now, is it?
D'oh, literally 4 minutes earlier and I could have brought it with me tonight.
Nice pick up, Matt.
It was also the cover to the gaming magazine, White Dwarf when the Dredd RPG was released.
Simply outstanding, Chris. The 1st arc really was arresting artistically. Congrats on landing this rarity.
So you should be, Bambi! :o)
Iconic image and featured on the back cover of umpteen Titan books. That's a keeper.
That's a corking page. Having finally re-read Worlds End (after some 35 years) I think the Allred story holds up very well.
I should never doubt your resolve, Quitely-Man! Congrats and sincerely, I can't imagine a more welcoming home.
They are both displayed in my CAF in the rooms entitled Death Gallery & Sandman/Death art 2, Will.
Sounds like someone I know after a few glasses of red wine. 😼
Generally when you purchase a commission you are not acquiring any reproduction rights, just the physical artwork for personal use. So artists are free to use the image as a print, cover etc Many collectors are more than happy to see their commission used in such a fashion but if it concerns you I would definitely discuss it with the artist prior to commissioning. It might affect their decision whether to accept the commission and/or they may adjust their charge to take account of the image rights. (Arthur happened to mention to me last week that the X-men print is one of his best selling prints and has now topped the price of the original commission which was a slight surprise to me but very happy for him.)
Now that's something you don't often see. Nice pick up.
That's a beauty. Someone hit the jackpot.
I dunno, you 'mortals' are doing alright for yourself. 😏
Such a gorgeous Wood classic with luscious inks. And you own the whole story?! Wow, hats off. Queue starts here for the Killackey Museum!
Fabulous iconic pose with the Trinity, capturing everything about NF you'd want. I remember being more than a little green when Shannon got this. I'm green again. A towering acquisition Mr K.
It's true that there are a number of things hiding in my portfolio but sad to say this is not one of them. 😼
Nice prelim but there is also a pen & ink cover. Brian wasn't digital at this point.
I also considered this series peak Matt Wagner. Glad it found such a good home. (And I'd never actually noticed that Hunter was looking at his watch.)
Nice work. And great to see a different pose on a well loved character.
Dan, before the hat there was the quiff. Nuff said. 😎
Absolutely killer example, Brett. One and done. (Slightly chagrined to admit I recently found a photo of myself with an ankh from then too.)
Btw if you weren't aware, the dedication is to Peter David.
VERY cool on the wall. Excellent pick up Mr C.
How this wasn't published will be a mystery for the ages. Just stunning.
Beautiful example from the issue which caused them to change the rules. I won't lie, there's a bit of green in my eye!
Clearly I somewhow missed this garantuan update, Chris. Just stunningly beautifully executed. Yet again we see that the plates Wrightson chose to omit still outrank 99% of the art that's out there. We'll all be paying entry to come visit.
You've thrown down a gauntlet, Mr K. I'm just trying to hold up my end!
Congratulations, Simon, a superb takedown. Although I'm sure I was bidding on this piece too and I remember being outbid (again). So I'm guessing what seems modest today probably wasn't, back then. Either way, I applaud your taste.
Very nice. Just realised I have the pencils for this piece.
Copy that. And so we're cancelling the art tour at my place later this month? :op
A very memorable cover, Dan. From a nostalgic time when X-Men & New Teen Titans were my must read monthlies.
