DescriptionOne of my favourite pages from Killing Joke. When I first read KJ it resonated with me that in a serious skirmish against a costumed super hero of course the villain would get down and dirty to gain the upper hand. In this case using the shortcomings of Batman's cowl against him and blinding him with his own mask. And then comes the bone crunching impact of being smacked over the head with a plank.I really went above and beyond in order to get this deal done, much to the amusement/disgust of bystanders. A lot of time, energy and travel miles which earned me the derision of my so called friends who thought it a fool's errand which would end in tears. To you I now say - How d'you like them apples?! ;o) I'd like to say never again but hey I'm an art junky! A shout out to Joe and Chris K for their logistic and financial assistance. Love the trademark Moore dialogue in the last panel - it's a winner!

My deepest sympathies to you, Mr. Melchior, for having to settle for this page. While Moore & Bolland were typically able to avoid the cluttering of Killing Joke pages with epic battle scenes between the Joker & Batman, they lose their mojo here with panel after panel of the Caped Crusader in gritty hand-to-hand combat with his arch nemesis. I mean, how many great panels of Bolland's other-wordly line work can you cram into one page? It's just too much - but I'm sure you will get over it!!! Knowing what effort went into taking this one down, all I can say is 'you deserve it'! Way to get it done.

I guess it's ok...if you go for that sort of thing...maybe. lol If there's a page from this book that's better it's not by much I can tell you that. There are "A" examples, "A+" examples and then there are "Thanks for blowing the curve for the rest of us." Examples. This this page you've proven why so many of us hate and love you simultaneously. Congrats.

Hi Joseph - I was wondering when you would post this monumental acquisition. It was fun being a witness to the triumph - both the page and the crazy road to getting it. You are the nexus!

Still not talking to you on this one. Of course, if you were to adopt me and leave it in your will.....That then incurs other problems with the forensic cover up post patricide

Do you want to know what the greatest thing is about this classic page? The way Bolland depicted Batman's ignominy in the last three panels. That is as perfectly done as it gets!
