Description

Here's a small painting that arrived on our doorstep earlier this week. By artist Thomas Maybank, I think it's an illustration for "The Vicar's Dilemma" from Pearson's Magazine, December 1909. The story is also by Maybank. I haven't been able to find the issue to confirm; if anyone has it and can do so, I'd appreciate it. On back, the handwritten caption reads, "I was conscious of many shrieks behind, and frankly admit that I added my quota."
