DescriptionLOVE Judge Dredd since back in the day of the Eagle Comics first hitting the US! Really happy and lucky to have gotten the second story, especially at such an incredible price. Very lucky this fell under the radar!This art is from Judge Dredd's second published adventure and it's the complete four-page story! Judge Dredd is the UK's single most important comic book character, and 2000 AD is their most important and influential title. The story gives us a lot of the iconic images and items that would become as important to Dredd-mythology as the Batmobile and Utility Belt are to Batman's. This story from issue #3 opens with a great headshot of Dredd on Page 1, followed by a great panel of him on his Lawmaster bike on Page 2, and that is followed by Dredd blasting a Perp with his Lawgiver gun on Page 3! The story ends with a fantastic half-page splash of Dredd and his Lawmaster on Page 4, and one of his catchphrases... "No One Can Escape Justice!" The pages were created in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13.25" x 17". The boards are very white. All text is hand-lettered paste-up on onionskin paper. The logo and 2000 AD "Thrill 6" lower corner box on Page 1 are stat paste-ups. There is original art under the logo paste-up in the top section of Page 1, and the logo is ripped through the "G". The last panel on Page 2 is a printed paste-up over the original art. This was to make that panel slightly smaller and leave room for the word balloon above it. Social/Sharing |
