Description

Ink and screentone on 11 x 17" bristol

Ripped from the pages of The New Mutants!!! This was a commission for New York Comic Con 2017. Unfortunately, I assumed incorrectly that I'd have a surrogate there to pick it up for me. So, delivery was delayed. But it's here now, and I'm in love! Jim and I had a back and forth about what the subject would be: Cable and Domino, New Mutants, "Jim, just pick who you want to draw!!!" Wisely or foolishly (you decide), I asked if he'd ever read Jo Duffy's Fallen Angels miniseries from 1987. He hadn't, so I sent him a Kerry Gammill image of the group, and he really dug it. It was decided. So, here you have them. A bigger group of misfits and D-Listers you will not find: (L to R) Siryn, Ariel, Warlock, Don, Gomi, Sunspot, Multiple Man, Chance, Boom-Boom, Devil Dinosaur, Moon Boy, and Vanisher. Whew! Jim must really like me, because he jammed a hunnert guys in here. There you have it, folks!

Fallen Angels was such a weird and fun miniseries! Jim did a fantastic job here!
