Description

Always a forerunner in elaborating society changes, in the early '70s Marvel was giving female super heroes more and more spotlight. The Cat was I believe the first Marvel title fully dedicated to a female hero. The short lived title had a noir feel to it that is fully exemplified by this beautiful splash.

I love the classy pose of the Cat, the gritty nightly city setting, the split layout and of course the lush inks by Mooney.

Gorgeous title page, with Marie and Jim combining so well. The Owl humanoids are wild! That opening pose of the Cat is just fabulous. Great page!
