Description

Nextwave was a series I discovered near the end of its all too short run.� I loved its irreverent and absolutely bonkers tone, as well as its eclectic cast.� I knew Boom Boom from the X-books, but almost everyone else was new to me.� There were classic Marvel characters like Machine Man and Devil Dinosaur, as well as lesser known ones like Captain Marvel (the other one), Elsa Bloodstone, and Forbush Man.

I didn't pick up any art from the book as it was coming out (I'm still hoping for one of those crazy DPS spreads from issue #11), so I was pretty excited that Stuart still had this cover available during a Felix art drop.� Funnily enough, I remember this was one of the last Nextwave pieces available for sale (maybe by Fanfare, who was repping Stuart and his inker Wade von Grawbadger at the time), and I kept passing on it because there was so little art on the board compared to the published cover (see additional images).� As a new collector, I wanted a physical piece of art that matched the final published image, but times change, and now I'm just glad to (finally) have a piece of Nextwave art in the collection.

Ooooooh, I love this one so, so much, Kin! :) Like you, I was initially underwhelmed by the amount of art on the page, but I have come here to officially repent and pay my respects: I really, really love this thing. :) There's charm, wit, sass, and personality here, and you are truly lucky to have it. A NEXTWAVE cover! Great pick up, Kin! Congrats!

Thanks, Jason! You have been forgiven :) The cast was so fun that any image with the Nextwave team together is great to look at (even with all the blank space).
