Ohh, WOW, now here I thought this was used in the Warriors portfolio, either way it ROCKS, congrats!!

This was donated by Mike to the Chicago Comicon benefit art auction in I think 1980 (I still have the paste up of the leaflet still that we did with the painting to advertise the show and auction). He was experimenting with using a bare masonite background and this is a really early painting by him. I guess he decided to not use it and doanted it to us instead. At the time he was often the auctioneer for the auction which at this time benefited the Alternative Schools Network of Chicago.

Great information! What an awesome time that must have been to be in the hobby. If I had a TARDIS, I'd be at that auction ;)

If you had a tardis yo uwould be at the 1981 con with all the Dr Who guests! -on hte other hand that con was so crowded it was insane!
