Description"Off Duty" - Tom Grindberg had developed a preliminary sketch for this image 15 years ago and asked his Facebook friends if anyone was interested in commissioning him to finish it up. So I commissioned Tom in May 2018 and the completed art arrived in the mail in November 2018.One of Tom's Facebook friends suggested a variation of the following commentary about the piece, which I have paraphrased slightly. In a single image, one can be introduced to a narrative of mystery, intrigue, and danger. The perspective allows the mind to fill in details unseen, engaging the imagination, and making the viewer sense the emotions in the characters and think about what might happen next. The 'Before' and 'After' moments that this art implies really grab the viewer. It is a graphic story full of suspense - all in a single image. The piece is 12" x 18". Social/Sharing |
