Marcus - Barbara Cartland was a well-known romance novelist. She sold more than 750 million copies of her books. The comic strip was an opportunity to have revolving casts and briefer storylines of a romantic nature. Barbara Cartland's Romances was a syndicated newspaper comic strip based on the bestselling romance novels of Barbara Cartland. Running from late 1980 to early 1983, it was written by Charlotte Weaver and illustrated by Gray Morrow.

It's a lovely piece that belongs in your collection. Jim indeed had a great admiration for Caniff. He did a Caniff-ized version of the characters from Miller's Sin City which was printed as a pin-up in one of the Sin City series. That original is in my collection.
