DescriptionHere's one for the voluminous Valiant devotees! A title page featuring the vexed visage of one Jack Boniface, aka Shadowman! This issue was part of "The Chaos Effect" crossover story that touched every title that Valiant was publishing at the time.Bob Hall's pencils perfectly capture Jack going crazy and cursing Master Darque's name on this brilliant splash page (with an inset panel!). Pencils and inks on 11 3/8 x 17ish Valiant branded bristol board. Like many Valiant pages from this time, this one has several of the trademark glue stains from where word balloons were once pasted to the page. Social/Sharing |

This Bob Hall kicked it into a higher gear than his 80's Marvel work. One would have thought he was a young hotshot artist when seeing this level of art for Valiant.

Hall and Ryder combine to make for some really attractive art, and it's nice to see the occasional Valiant page that doesn't look like it was drawn by Barry Windsor-Smith and Bob Layton.

Sweet Valiant title page, Bob Hall is awesome! The main figure work and the background details are great, and that (presumably) hand drawn lettering is also really nice!

The title is actually on the page which makes it that much better!

Bob Hall's Shadowman was the most consistently good of the original Valiant books in my opinion. This is a fantastic sample from that classic run!
