DescriptionI have not been reading the Godzilla vs America books from IDW, so this was not on my radar. However, Sean from Athenaeum, who reps Caroline, had these for sale. I immediately fell in love with the pages and ended up getting a copy of the Godzilla vs Chicago issue just to read this 10 page story. It is delightful and charming and fun! Caroline brings a wonderful, indie sense of humor to Godzilla that just works. But this page is just a strong image of the Big G letting out a cute little rawr.Bonus: this page was used as a C2E2 exclusive variant cover!!! 11x14 on board. I know it's not often that you hear collectors say this, but this is one of those rare instances wherein as much as this splash is so kick ass, I still love the panel page you chose even more! I still can't believe Caroline Cash drew a mainstream story......

Generally speaking, I agree with you. The story telling on the other page is just so great. The sound effects. The gag with the shirt. It all adds up to a really solid page. But with this one, it's just such a great image of Godzilla, but what really sold me was the RAWR. Not a big, firey, atomic breath-laden ROOOAAAARRRR. Just rawr. It makes me happy.

Honestly, I got lazy and didn't want to continue extending my comment. But yes, that low, short "rawr" is hilarious!

It says Caroline Cash all over Godzilla's coat with so many smooth ink strokes! Cash's wry humor comes through with a simple quiet roar.

Very cool Godzilla splash, and it looks pretty good for that variant cover double published treatment too
